SAN DIEGO – Firefighters had to lift an overturned truck to rescue a trapped driver Thursday morning on an Interstate 805 offramp in Miramar.
At 3:15 a.m. a pickup truck carrying two men crashed onto its side on the I-805 north off-ramp to Carroll Canyon Road.
The driver somehow got trapped in the truck. About a dozen San Diego Fire-Rescue firefighters had to lift the vehicle and break out the windshield to free the man. He was taken to a hospital. His passenger was able to get out safely and was not hurt.
The Carroll Canyon Road offramp was closed during the rescue operation. As of 5 a.m., it was still closed.
The circumstances of the crash were not confirmed.
