CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - A man was killed Tuesday morning after police said the car he was driving collided with a big rig truck that was parked on a Chula Vista street.
The crash happened shortly after 5 a.m. near the 900 block of Eastlake Parkway, just past Otay Lakes Road.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash and the possibility the truck was parked illegally.
The identity of the 20-year-old victim was not immediately released.
According to police, no one was inside the truck at the time of the crash.
10News learned the truck's driver entered a Jack in the Box restaurant nearby before the crash occurred.
Eastlake Parkway, between Fenton Street and Otay Lakes Road, was closed due to the crash investigation.
