LAKESIDE, Calif. - Sheriff's officials are investigating the death of a 35-year-old man found dead on a sidewalk in Lakeside.
The man was found in the 10400 block of Aquilla Drive around 4:20 a.m. A newspaper delivery person found the man lying on the sidewalk.
Deputies say the man was unresponsive and suffered from trauma to his upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sheriff's deputies have arrested Lance Benson, 29, of Lakeside in connection with the death of the man.
The Medical Examiner's Office will be conducting an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
