SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Three people were found dead in a Vista home under suspicious circumstances, according to San Diego County sheriff's officials.
Sheriff's officials said a friend visited the home in the 1400 block of Phil-Mar Lane just after 5:30 a.m. Monday and found the bodies of two men and a woman inside.
Officials told 10News the victims were shot to death and found in three separate rooms. Sheriff's Homicide Detectives and the Medical Examiner's Office responded to investigate.
Sheriff's officials said they responded to a call of a fight at the same home on Sunday, around 10:45 p.m. When deputies arrived at the home, they said all of the subjects refused to speak with deputies or provide any information.
Deputies said one man was detained as he drove away from the home, he told them that he had just left his ex-girlfriend's residence after a fight with her brother. Deputies say he had minor visible injuries and determined he was the victim of an assault.
The man was arrested for driving under the influence and taken to the Vista Patrol Station where was evaluated for his injuries. Deputies said he refused medical treatment and was released around 1 a.m. Monday.
Later that morning is when the family friend found three dead at the home on Phil-Mar Lane. Deputies said the preliminary investigation indicated the assault victim, 52, returned to the residence, where he shot and killed his ex-girlfriend, 52, and her brother, 53, before killing himself.
The Medical Examiner's Office will be conducting an autopsy and will confirm the cause and manner of the deaths.
