SANTEE, Calif. (KGTV) - A water main break Tuesday night forced the closure of a busy Santee street.
10News learned the main break was reported shortly before 11 p.m. on Mission Gorge Road, between Fanita Drive and Carlton Hills Boulevard.
While the cause of the break was not immediately known, authorities were forced to shut down the stretch of road for repairs and issue a Sig Alert.
One lane on both sides of Mission Gorge Road, between state Route 125 and Carlton Hills Boulevard, was reopened at around 2 a.m., the California Highway Patrol reported.
CHP officials said the closure could remain in effect for the next 24-48 hours.
