SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A couple rescued a driver from an SUV that burst into flames along Interstate 15 in the Miramar area late Monday night.
At about 11:20 p.m., authorities said the SUV was traveling on the southbound side of I-15, near state Route 163, when it collided with a van, crashed into a guardrail and caught fire.
A husband and wife traveling on the freeway stopped to help get the female driver out of the SUV before it became fully engulfed.
The woman was put in the couple's car while authorities responded to the crash and fire. She suffered minor injuries in the crash, but no other injuries were reported.
10News learned that the SUV's driver took a field sobriety test and was later arrested on suspicion of DUI.
