Colorado congresswoman accuses former San Diego Mayor Bob Filner of harassment

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Colorado congresswoman Diana DeGette said on MSNBC Monday that former congressman and San Diego Mayor Bob Filner tried to forcibly kiss her.

Rep. DeGette told “Meet the Press Daily” that she was in an elevator with Filner some years ago, and Filner tried to pin her to the door of the elevator. Rep. DeGette said she pushed Filner away.

Filner served 20 years in Congress before being elected mayor of San Diego in 2012. He resigned in 2013 amid harassment allegations.

Filner pleaded guilty to sexually harassing women, and was sentenced to probation and three months of home confinement. Filner and the City of San Diego settled lawsuits with four women.
