SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A woman was hospitalized with serious injuries after a violent three-vehicle crash along I-8 early Friday morning.
The wreck happened just after 1:15 a.m. in the eastbound lanes near the College Avenue exit.
The powerful impact of the crash destroyed all three cars and sent the motor of one vehicle into the air. One car landed on its roof.
The female victim suffered major injuries to the lower half of her body and was transported to Scripps Mercy Hospital. No further information about her condition was available at this time.
A man was arrested on suspicion of DUI, officials said.
California Highway Patrol officials temporary closed two lanes on the highway during their investigation. I-8 has since been reopened.
