A speeding truck left a swath of destruction in its wake Friday night in Escondido.
Police say the driver was speeding near Broadway and 8th Street, hitting stop signs before jumping over a car in front of it. The truck wound up hitting a carport which collapsed.
The driver was taken to a hospital. The crash is under investigation.
