Chula Vista holds hepatitis A vaccination event to stop outbreak

CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - Chula Vista is collaborating with the County of San Diego to host vaccination events and install handwashing stations to stop the spread of hepatitis A.

There have been 17 reported cases of hepatitis A in Chula Vista so far, according to City spokesperson Diane Howell.

Next week, Chula Vista will install handwashing stations in 13 locations, including Lauderbach, Harborside, Bay Blvd., Memorial and Orange parks.

The County has vaccination events planned in South Bay.  Shots will be given out at the Chula Vista South Library until 1 p.m. Friday.
