(KGTV) - Changes are coming to the popular Mega Millions lottery.
Starting with the Oct. 31 draw, it will cost players $2 per ticket to participate -- up from $1 per ticket. Jackpots will also start off at $40 million, instead of $15 million.
Officials say the changes are in response to players' call for bigger jackpots similar to the prizes in the Powerball game.
While the odds of winning will be longer, officials said Mega Millions players have better chances to win the second-tier $1 million prize.
