LEMON GROVE, Calif. (KGTV) - A car believed to be speeding down a Lemon Grove street took down a power pole, crashed into a yard and hit a house, but no injuries were reported.

The incident was reported at around 1:15 a.m. in the 2300 block of 69th Street, deputies said.

A witness told 10News a car traveling at a high rate of speed on eastbound Mt. Vernon Street did not stop at a T intersection at 69th Street and tried to make a turn.

However, the driver could not safely turn and lost control of the car. The vehicle took down a large pole, vaulted over a wall and struck the edge of a house before coming to rest on its side near a bedroom.

10News learned the homeowner was watching TV in another room when he heard a loud sound from outside. The homeowner and another witness helped the driver out of the car, and he was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Deputies said DUI does not appear to be a factor in the crash, but the incident remains under investigation.

No other injuries were reported.
