SABRE SPRINGS, Calif. – A man in his late-20s was seriously hurt after he was struck by a car on a dark road in the Sabre Springs area of San Diego Friday morning.
The collision occurred at 3:16 a.m. in the 11700 block of Poway Road at Springhurst Drive.
According to San Diego police, a 2003 Infinity traveling west on Poway Road struck the victim while he was standing in the middle of the road. The impact shattered the windshield.
The victim was transported to a Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla with a broken left femur and a broken right forearm. His condition was not confirmed.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
The westbound lanes of Poway Road heading towards Interstate 15 were closed for several hours. They were reopened at about 6:30 a.m.
