LEMON GROVE, Calif. (KGTV) - A driver was taken to the hospital Wednesday after crashing her car into a nail salon at a Lemon Grove strip mall, authorities said.
According to Heartland Fire & Rescue Department officials, the crash occurred at about 10:30 a.m. in the 7100 Block of Broadway.
Surveillance video shows a car driven by a 77-year-old woman slamming into the front T Nail shop and through the business before coming to a stop.
Two people inside the salon were pushed by the vehicle, but they did not appear to the suffer serious injuries.
However, the driver was taken to Grossmont Hospital with injuries of unknown severity.
The crash caused "significant damage to the structure," fire crews said.
Building Department officials were summoned to the scene to help fire crews evaluate the building.
Authorities asked the public to avoid the area during their investigation.
