SAN DIEGO - A brush fire blackened about a half-acre in a gorge alongside Riverwalk Golf Course in Mission Valley Wednesday afternoon.
The non-injury blaze erupted shortly before 4 p.m. amid thick vegetation off Hotel Circle Place, just north of Interstate 8, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.
It took crews about 20 minutes to subdue the flames, which at no time posed any structural threats, SDFRD spokesman Lee Swanson said.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
