Several spot fires erupted off northbound Interstate 15 in the Temecula area Monday afternoon, burning 10 acres and injuring one firefighter.
The fires broke out shortly before 2 p.m. along the shoulder of I-15 in an unincorporated area of Temecula, according to Cal Fire. The fires prompted temporary lane closures on northbound I-15 due to the response.
Cal Fire said the fires burned close to the Temecula Creek Inn, destroying several golf carts and a storage shed.
A firefighter from an undisclosed agency was taken to the hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.
As of 6 p.m., crews have stopped the spread of the fire at 10 acres, with containment at 25 percent.
