VISTA, Calif. - Dozens of people were caught breaking and entering into some Vista apartments Tuesday, but they didn't take anything.
The acts were part of the annual "Breaking and Entering" event for Solutions for Change, a nonprofit organization that helps homeless families get back on their feet again.
On Tuesday, business, families and churches were invited to break into an apartment to decorate it and leave Christmas presents behind for the families.
The once homeless families were told they needed to be out so the units could be inspected. When they returned, they found their homes filled with presents and refrigerators filled with food.
This is the 11th year Solutions for Change has held the event.
