An Escondido woman found two puppies boxed up near a dumpster near her apartment building. Monday night, the puppies were safe, warm and recovering in their new homes.

Kelly, who has asked 10News not to reveal her last name, says she walked outside of her apartment building in Escondido earlier this montha and spotted a covered box. The box and no airholes and the word "free" was written on it.

Kelly found the two little terrier puppies inside, malnourished and almost unresponsive.

Despite health and financial issues, Kelly, who is deeply religious. says she feels God brought her and the puppies together for a reason. Kelly decided to adopt one of them and named her Faith. The second puppy has also been placed in a home.

A Gofundme campaign has been set up to help with Faith's expenses.
