SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A big rig truck overturned on Interstate 15 in the Sabre Springs area Thursday morning and hit a part of a freeway overpass before coming to rest on the right shoulder.
The California Highway Patrol reported the incident shortly before 4:15 a.m. on the northbound side of I-15, near state Route 56.
According to the CHP, the truck -- which was carrying frozen food -- somehow rolled over and struck an overpass pillar.

No injuries were immediately reported, but the clean-up and repair efforts caused a traffic backup in the area for several hours.
After assessing the structure, Caltrans determined the damage was cosmetic and reopened the affected lanes at about 10:30 a.m.
A Caltrans supervisor told 10News the overpass has been hit three times in the past four years.
CHP officials are investigating the crash.
