SAN DEIGO, Calif. (KGTV) -- Balboa Elementary School students returned to a clean campus on Monday after volunteers stepped in to clean up piles of trash that accumulated over the summer.
10News first reported the story last Wednesday. The elementary school was littered with used condoms, dead rats, and shattered alcohol bottles. Parents were concerned the school would be trashed for students on the first day.
After the initial story aired, volunteers and the school principal cleaned everything up over the weekend.
Parents hope the school stays clean throughout the school year.
