A healthy lifestyle heading into the new school year can help ensure a good education and successful school year. Much of the time, it starts at home with some easy to do tasks for parents.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently released their health checklist of points for parents to consider before sending kids back to class.
Healthy students are better learners, the CDC says. Poor health, hunger, emotional abuse, and chronic illness can all contribute to negative education outcomes from students.
"In turn, academic success is an excellent indicator for the overall well-being of youth and a primary predictor and determinant of adult health outcomes," the CDC says.
