Jemma-Linda had surgery to put a metal plate in her head. Right now she
has down her left cheek, a stent in her nose and damage to her left eye socket - but that's only what you can see.

Her entire nose reconstructed, leaving her breathing labored. And mom tells 10News that she still has fragments of bones and a metal plate in her head.

"She does have difficulty sleeping and breathing and sometimes eating," The baby's mother said. "You know, it's different for her now."

Her mother is still grappling with the new reality.

"Every time you look at your baby, you see the baby that was born and you feel so bad," she said. "It's so heartwrenching to see what she had to go through."

Without a car, she struggles to get to and from doctor's appointments but says she is keeping her faith.

"I know the number one healer is up above," she said. "We appreciate all the prayers for my baby and we are so thankful for that."

The family has set up a GoFundMe. All money donated will be used to help pay for medical expenses.
