8 hospitalized after man drives into crowd in NorCal, police say

SUNNYVALE, Calif. (KGTV) -- A driver was arrested Tuesday night after slamming into a group of pedestrians in Sunnyvale, according to KGO.

The crash happened around 6:40 p.m. at the intersection of El Camino and Saratoga Sunnyvale Road.

Police say they believe the man behind the wheel may have intentionally hit the crowd. KGO reports that witnesses say there was no sign the driver attempted to stop before hitting the pedestrians.

At least eight people were rushed to the hospital following the crash. The youngest victim was a 13-year-old boy.

The crash is still under investigation. Sunnyvale is located in Northern California near Palo Alto.
