SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A driver was arrested Friday on suspicion of drunken driving after police said she ran over two women sitting on a curb in San Carlos.
According to San Diego police, the incident happened shortly after 3:50 a.m. in the 6900 block of Golfcrest Drive, near Golfcrest Place.
Police said the driver was traveling northbound on Golfcrest Drive when she "drifted to her right and struck a fire hydrant." She then lost control of her vehicle and struck two women that were sitting on the curb.
The victims -- age 31 and 26 -- were pinned under the vehicle and had to be extricated by emergency responders.
Both women were taken to the hospital after they each suffered cuts and bruises. Police said the 31-year-old woman suffered a lacerated liver.
The 23-year-old driver was arrested at the scene on suspicion of felony DUI. Her name was not released.
