OCEANSIDE -- A pair of 17-year-old boys arrested following an armed robbery at a convenience store in Oceanside Thursday morning have been linked to a series of similar crimes around the North County.
The teens -- whose names were withheld because of their age – were arrested during a traffic stop after allegedly robbing a 7-Eleven store at 711 Oceanside Blvd. about 2:15 a.m., Oceanside police Officer Kathleen Vincent said.
Inside the teenagers' vehicle officers found a loaded handgun, two realistic looking BB guns and masks, she said.
Investigators later linked the boys to five armed robberies total: three since September at the same 7-Eleven, and two at am/pm stores on Melrose Drive in Oceanside and on Santa Fe Avenue Vista, according to Vincent.
Both boys have since been booked into juvenile hall, Vincent said.
