Chula Vista police arrested 19 people for being minors in possession of alcohol during a sting operation before a Sublime concert at the Sleep Train Amphitheatre.
The enforcement operation was conducted Saturday night in the parking lots outside the amphitheater, according to a statement released Sunday by the Chula Vista Police Department.
Those arrested ranged in age from 15 to 20 years old. All of those arrested were released with a misdemeanor citation or released to their parents or a guardian with a pending court date.
Minors who are convicted of possessing alcohol face a minimum $250 fine and 24 hours of community service.
The enforcement program was intended to reduce the availability of alcohol to minors, according to police.
CVPD's operation was funded by the California Alcoholic Beverage Control through the department's Grant Assistance Program.
