SAN DIEGO -- A three-year-old boy was stabbed in the neck during horseplay with his 10-year-old brother Sunday in the Palm City neighborhood, and was taken to Rady Children's Hospital, police said.

Dispatchers were called to the 2300 block of East Beyer Boulevard at about 2:15 p.m., according to San Diego Police Sgt. Tom Sullivan.

The youngster was taken to the hospital about 20 minutes later and was expected to be OK, Sullivan said.

The stabbing apparently happened during horseplay between the two siblings and was not intentional or considered criminal, Sullivan said.

It was not clear what kind sharp object was involved in the incident. No other injuries were reported.
