Southern California theme parks celebrate the holidays with festive events

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The holiday season is upon San Diego and local attractions are prepared to go all out.

A number of San Diego and Southern California theme parks begin their holiday festivities this month, extending into December and next year.

Locally, LEGOLAND, SeaWorld, the San Diego Zoo and Belmont Park will begin their holiday season with themed attractions, shows, and celebrations.

Around Southern California, Disneyland, Universal Studios, Knott's Berry Farm will also host an array of seasonal festivities for the whole family. Here's a look at what to expect at your favorite parks this year.

SeaWorld San Diego's Christmas Celebration

When: Nov. 18 - Jan. 6, 2018


SeaWorld San Diego will host a slate of holiday events with an oceanic twist this season, including a Santa's Village, Dolphin Island Christmas, Breakfast With Orcas and Santa, Clyde and Seamore's Christmas Special show, and an "O Wondrous Night" nativity show.

Holidays at LEGOLAND San Diego

When: Nov. 18 - Jan. 1, 2018


LEGOLAND San Diego will celebrate the holiday season with events including holiday-themed shows around the park, a massive Lego Christmas tree, holiday treats, and the chance to meet with Lego Santa and his Lego reindeer.

Jungle Bells at San Diego Zoo

When: Dec. 1 - Jan. 1, 2018


Lights, foods, and performances celebrating the holiday season will transform San Diego Zoo into a winter jungle wonderland this season. The park's residents will also be celebrating the season with special shows running this season.

Holidays at Disneyland and California Adventure Park

When: Nov. 10 - Jan. 7, 2018


Disneyland and California Adventure Park are set to celebrate the holidays with festivities throughout the parks. California Adventure will host "World of Color - Season of Light" and "Disney 
Disney ¡Viva Navidad!" events while Disneyland brings back its "Christmas Fantasy Parade" and "Haunted Mansion Holiday" celebration.

Belmont Park's 'Tis the Season for Giving and Snow Days

When: Nov. 26 - Dec. 20, Dec. 20 and 27


Belmont Park is welcoming all San Diegans into the holidays with some snow days! The park will bring snow to the courtyard for two days in December and asks locals to bring new toys and canned goods to be donated to the San Diego Food Bank and Hope in the City organizations this season.

Knott's Merry Farm

When: Nov. 17 - Jan. 7, 2018


Knott's Berry Farm will host a variety of Christmas festivities and attractions, including a crafts fair, a snowy Ghost Town, live entertainment, holiday eats, and more.

Holidays at Universal Studios Hollywood

When: Nov. 24 - Jan. 7, 2018


Universal Studios Hollywood is bringing the holiday season to its most popular attractions. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Who-ville, and the Minions are all getting the Christmas treatment. Holiday decor will grace the park throughout the winter season to make for some festive family fun.

Holiday in the Park at Six Flags Magic Mountain

When: Nov. 18 - Dec. 31


Six Flags Magic Mountain is hosting festive entertainment, thrill rides, and more as the park is turned into a winter wonderland. Six Flags plans to celebrate with carolers, visits with Santa, and delicious holiday treats.
