ANAHEIM (CNS) - The beloved Pirates of the Caribbean attraction at Disneyland opened 50 years ago Saturday.
The Anaheim theme park is celebrating the golden anniversary with special food items, limited-edition anniversary merchandise and a visit from Capt. Jack Sparrow, the character played by Johnny Depp in the series of films inspired by the attraction.
Park officials also promise guests "special surprises" to mark the milestone.
On Thursday, new pirate-themed food was added to the Disneyland menu, including at the Blue Bayou Restaurant, which is also celebrating its 50th anniversary on Saturday.
