(KGTV) - The wait is over, Star Wars fans: The first look at Episode IX has been unveiled at the annual Star Wars Celebration event.
The first trailer for the J.J. Abrams-directed film, titled “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker”, debuted Friday in Chicago at the Celebration convention -- an event that features all things Star Wars.
Episode IX is the third chapter in Disney/Lucasfilm’s sequel trilogy. “The Force Awakens” kicked off the new trilogy in 2015, followed by “The Last Jedi” in 2017.
“The Rise of Skywalker” blasts into theaters on Dec. 20.
