This time, America might be rooting for the sharks.

The Syfy channel has announced it will roll out a “Sharknado 3” in 2015, following up on its 2013 and 2014 movies based in Los Angeles and New York, respectively, but the network has been cagey about the setting for the third installment.

However, Showbiz411.com is reporting that the location will be Washington D.C., a Syfy response to online petitions to the network from fans who want to see a reign of terror on our nation’s capital. The website also reports that the stars of the first two “Sharknado” films, Ian Ziering and Tara Reid, will return for the sequel.

Syfy has not confirmed the report.

The first “Sharknado,” in which a massive storm filled with airborne sharks converged on L.A., was an instant cult classic. This year’s sequel, featuring a bigger budget and an array of cameos, was an even bigger hit for Syfy.

Yet if those people-eating sharks start falling on America’s politicos, those vicious varmints may go from villains to heroes.
