SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — When the spring season came to an end for the Carlsbad High School swimming and diving team, the Lancers decided to get a little creative. Head coach Patty Kraatz came up with the idea of putting together a music video.
"I have a really fun team with strong athletes. They have a real competitive drive, and I tried to focus on some fun some characters as well as mental health."
She had her team suit up, think outside the box, and just have some good old fun.
"I literally said put your swim cap and goggles on, and your swim suit. If you want, just go about your daily business and show me your best funny."
Patty says while this idea was about team, a lot of thought went into her 16 seniors who had their season end to Coronavirus.
"A lot of my seniors were on track to possibly take a CIF title this year. It was alsoa last ditch effort to break some records. They lost all of that, so i really thought it was important for these kids to have some fun."
