Popular ’90s television show “Saved By the Bell” is getting a reboot and it will star some of the original cast members. We’re so excited, and we just can’t hide it!

Currently, Mario Lopez will be back as the hunky A.C. Slater, and Elizabeth Berkley will return as the intelligent and energetic Jessie Spano. At the moment, it doesn’t appear that the other series regulars — Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Zack Morris), Dustin Diamond (Screech), Lark Voorhies (Lisa Turtle) and Tiffani Thiessen (Kelly Kapowski) — have joined the cast. But there’s still time, right?

The reboot of “Saved By the Bell” will air on NBCUniversal’s new streaming platform called “Peacock,” named for the design of the famous NBC logo. Peacock launches in April 2020.

In the show by comedy writer Tracey Wigfield, Spano and Lopez are now parents. What’s more unbelievable, however, is the role that’s been written for Zack Morris — Wigfield has imagined his character as having become the governor of the State of California.

Gov. Morris sends Bayside High into a whirlwind when he closes lower-income schools and sends the students to higher-income schools throughout the state. That leads to Bayside’s students getting a dose of reality.

NBCUniversal hasn’t yet announced a title for the show. Perhaps it will follow the “Beverly Hills 90210” reboot with a different, yet similar name — the Fox show is now called “BH90210.”

Peacock will also feature another big reboot. “Punky Brewster,” which was popular in the ’80s, is back! Soleil Moon Frye returns as an older version of her original character. Reports indicate that Frye’s character will be a single mother of three.

In addition to new sitcoms and reboots, Peacock will have a slew of NBC’s favorite shows available for streaming. NBCUniversal listed several “timeless titles” it will have on the service, including “The Office,” “Parks and Recreation,” “30 Rock,” “Will & Grace,” “Downton Abbey,” “House” and many more.

We’re excited about the new streaming service and can’t wait to marathon so many of these great shows.
