Father of pro tennis player arrested in San Diego on molestation charges

MIRA MESA, Calif. (KGTV) - A San Diego tennis instructor was arrested Tuesday on accusations of child molestation.

San Diego Sheriff's (SDSO) arrested Nikolaos ("Nick") Philippoussis, 68, at his Mira Mesa home on multiple counts of lewd and lascivious acts with two minors.

Philippoussis is the father to retired professional tennis player Mark Philippoussis.

The 68-year-old worked as a personal tennis coach in North County, according to SDSO, and the alleged victims had taken tennis lessons from him.

The ages of the victims and times of the alleged incidents were not disclosed.

Philippoussis is being held on $2.5 million bail and is set to be in court Wednesday.
