What to see at the MCAS Miramar Air Show

(KGTV) - MCAS Miramar's annual display of flight heads into town Sept. 22 - 24, treating guests to the largest military air show in the nation.

This year's theme is "A Salute to Vietnam Veterans,"  honoring the sacrifices made by service members who fought in Vietnam.

Attendees this year will get a glimpse at some amazing air stunts and flying demonstrations by the Blue Angels, Leap Frogs, Army Golden Knights, civilian performers, and others.

8 – 9 a.m.

About 50,000 attendees are expected to check out the Air Show Expo as well. The family-friendly trade show will feature live music, food, beverages, and more family activities.  

Friday, Sept. 22, will be Student Day at the air show. Groups of students will be given tours of static aircraft on base and shown the ins and outs of the world of aviation and the chance to meet civilian and military aviators. Reservations for groups of students can be made online.
