SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A woman reported missing this week after she didn't arrive to pick up her kids from church has been found in Mexico.

Jonathan Chappell told 10News Tijuana authorities said they found his wife, 40-year-old Crystal Chappell, after a family there recognized her.

San Diego confirmed Wednesday concerned citizens saw Crystal sitting on a street alone in downtown Tijuana. SDPD said the mother of two did not ask for any help from the family that recognized her, but they helped direct local authorities to her.

She has no medical problems and will be taken to the U.S. border, said police.

Chappell reported his wife missing after she didn't pick up her two children from a Mission Valley church on Sunday.

Chappell told 10News he had tracked his wife's cell phone and it pinged near southbound Interstate 805 towards Mexico. He was concerned his wife may have been carjacked or kidnapped.
