ESCONDIDO, Calif. (KGTV) – An Escondido mother says she saw a strange man spitting at students walking home from school on Wednesday.
Elizabeth Munoz was turning into Grape Street from Mission Avenue and saw that appeared to be a bearded man following two girls walking home from school.
“He was just like spitting at them,” she said, “I was very angry and upset because, how are you going to do that to (someone)? That’s not okay."
Munoz began honking her horn to get the man to stop. Then all of a sudden, the man turned his attention from the girls to her, according to Munoz.
“He was upset, and he came towards me,” she said. “He was telling me to get out of the car.”
Munoz says the man was beating on her car and trying to open the doors. She says she had her baby in the backseat. She quickly drove off fearing for their safety.
She wants other parents to warn their kids, especially if they walk to or from school.
