Woman rams car into Mid-City bar over perceived slight

SAN DIEGO – A woman who reportedly angry about getting turned down by a man, reportedly slammed her car into the front porch of a bar in San Diego’s Mid-City neighborhood early Wednesday morning, and then was caught more than an hour later after driving away. 
 
According to San Diego police, the incident occurred at about 2:30 a.m. at the Last Call bar, located near El Cajon Boulevard and Winona Avenue. 
 
Witnesses told police a woman had been turned down by a man earlier in the night. In response, she allegedly got in her car and smashed into the front wooden porch of the bar while the man was standing on it, destroying the porch and scattering splinters across the sidewalk. The man told police he leaped out of the way, hurting his ankle in the process. 
 
The woman backed up and drove away, but her car was located sometime after 3:30 a.m. parked at 51st Street and Orange Avenue, approximately one mile from the bar. She was passed out behind the wheel. 
 
The woman was taken into custody. Her name and the charges she might face were not immediately disclosed. 
 
The man did not have to be taken a hospital.
