A bobcat has been put down by animal service officers after biting a woman who stopped to check on it after the bobcat was hit by a car in Carmel Valley, San Diego police said.
Police said the woman thought it was a regular house cat and pulled over to help it. When she did, the bobcat bit her in the arm.
Animal service officers put the dying bobcat down due to the extent of its injuries.
The bobcat will be transported to the County's Health and Human Services' Epidemiology Office to be tested for rabies.
