SAN DIEGO - Police are actively searching for suspects in connection with a series of BB gun shootings in the Allied Gardens neighborhood of San Diego.

San Diego police told 10News Wednesday that in the past week-and-a-half, there have been 24 cases of vehicle vandalism in which a BB or pellet gun was used to shoot out the windows of parked cars in the Allied Gardens and San Carlos neighborhoods.

Several of the incidents have occurred between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. One victim reported seeing a black Infiniti SUV with a Hispanic driver leaving the scene immediately after the victim's car windows were shot out. The driver was described as having bushy brown hair and a medium complexion.

Megan Goodrich recently woke up to see her car window hit with a BB.

"It's destruction for the purpose of destruction," she said.

Goodrich wrote a letter to neighbors asking for clues, and posted them on doors around the area.

"I hope these kids are caught and I hope their parents see the value in proper consequences," she said.

Goodrich said she'd be out a couple hundred dollars to fix her window, but that's not her biggest worry.

"It's a matter of time before they start doing something more dangerous, and there are so many kids in the area," she said.

Anyone with information on these incidents should contact San Diego police at 619-531-2000.
