OCEAN BEACH, Calif. -- A Korean War veteran from Logan Heights is teaming up with an unlikely partner to create a unique brand of local music.
Junior Foss, known in the music world as the 'Soul Man,' plays a rare percussion instrument called a Guiro (pronounced 'wee-doh'). It's a groove instrument he describes as the 'garlic' for Latin music.
Enter Travis Oliver, a traditional blue grass guitar man. Their friendship is breaking down barriers and re-energizing the soul man's spirit.
The two just finished recording a studio album. You can find out more about the band at www.GuiroGrass.com.
