LAS VEGAS (KTNV) - Surveillance video captured an armed showdown between a clerk and would-be robber earlier this month at a Las Vegas wireless store.
"My job is my life," said the owner, Miguel, who did not want his last name disclosed.
His life would soon be the very thing that was on the line. Miguel, a father of three, said he had a bad feeling when a customer walked in just before closing time.
"He looked like he was pissed off," he told 10News' Las Vegas sister station KTNV.
Surveillance footage shows the customer knocking over the counter and smashing the glass. The crook grabbed an iPad and cell phone.
The owner said he immediately ran to the back of the store to get his weapon.
"Don't let him get away," he said.
When the would-be robber saw Miguel's gun, he immediately dropped the merchandise and walked out with his hands up.
Miguel said his finger was not on the trigger. He told KTNV this was the moment he had practiced for in a class just a month ago.
"If I hadn't taken my classes to get my CCW (permit to carry concealed weapon), I probably would have shot him," Miguel said.
The would-be robber has not been apprehended by authorities.
