Oceanside police are looking for the person who vandalized seven cars with paint.

Taylor Noricks said he came outside and saw his car had been splashed with white paint early Sunday morning.

“My roommate woke me up and said that my car was tagged," he said. "And my first thought is like somebody spray painted it, maybe there’s gang signs on it.”

Seven cars all parked in the Canyon Club Apartments parking lot had been doused with white paint. Noricks said the vandal stole the paint from a work truck parked a few feet away, and then went on a spattering spree down the row.

“He was definitely aiming for my window," Noricks said. "It was mostly splattered all across [my windshield]. And then just kind of dripped down over my license plate and bumper."

Thankfully, Noricks discovered the damage before the paint dried completely. He was able to scrub his car clean after a few hours of work.

Other neighbors weren't so lucky; one man said it was going to cost him $2,500 to get his car professionally cleaned.

“I don’t have any idea why somebody would do something like that,” Noricks said.
