UNLV assistant hockey coach Nick Robone is recovering at the hospital after his brother acted quickly to save his life.
Anthony Robone is a firefighter with the Henderson Fire Department. He was at the concert with his girlfriend, his brother Nick, and some other friends.
He says like many others, they didn't initially know it was gunfire when the first shots rang out. After the second round, Anthony says he turned around and Nick said he's been hit.
They quickly rushed to get Nick help. He had been hit the chest, just missing his lung. Anthony says Nick was spitting up blood. As they looked for help, the gunfire kept going.
"The rounds seemed like they never stopped," he says.
Eventually, they were able to find ambulance to take Nick to Sunrise Hospital. From there, Anthony continued to use his firefighter training to help other people who were injured.
He says Nick is getting a lot of support from the UNLV hockey team and the community.
"He's one of the best guys I know," Anthony says.
Anthony says Nick is progressing on his recovery. His tube was removed and he is now awake and talking again, but the family says they still have a long road ahead.
Friends have created a GoFundMe to support Nick's recovery, and UNLV hockey will be selling shirts and donating money from ticket sales at their games this weekend to help.
