Camp Pendleton has two fires burning well into the center of the base, according to the Camp Pendleton Fire Department.
The department says one of the fires is burning in an impact area, and smoke may be visible from a large distance.
The second fire continues to burn off islands of unburned fuel near the Horno area. The second fire is within the containment line, according to the department, but will continue to be monitored.
There is currently no threat to any structures or surrounding communities.
