The owner of an Escondido salon is picking up the pieces after a pickup truck smashed through her store.
Escondido police say a brand new Chevy pickup truck backed into Backstreet Hair Design. It smashed the front glass, destroyed the door and caused major damage to the building.
Gary Madden, owner of Madden's Lock & Safe next to the salon, said the whole building shook.
"I thought I was going to see a semi-truck parked in one of these buildings but instead it was a pickup truck," he said.
Police arrested the driver on suspicion of DUI.
No one was hurt.
