SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A single mom is in shock after watching home surveillance video.

A stranger made their way onto her property and made off with treats meant for her kids.

Tiffany Holm lives in Golden Hill with her three boys. She loves the area and has never had any problems. But on Monday night, Holm found her belongings ransacked.

"When we came home, we saw that that we had some boxes here and they've been opened," she said.

Later, she checking her home security camera - looking for answers.

"A gentleman walked up to the gate, hung out a little bit, looked around to see if anybody was watching," said Holm. "He climbed up on the brick and hopped over the gate."

The stolen items were Legos, chocolate coins and candy rocks. Holm purchased them for her son's seventh birthday party.

"My boys said he must've been a hungry man," she said. Her kids, "They were angry that their presents were taken and sad."

Despite falling victim to theft, she said she just feels sorry for the man.

"He must've been a pretty desperate person to do that and so my heart does go out to him as well."

Now, she wants her neighbors to watch out.

"We should just look for each other a little bit more. I love a close-knit community that takes care of each other and is always watching." Holm said.

Holm contacted Amazon and they were able to re-ship the items. She plans on filing a police report if this happens again.
