Police conducted a DUI/License checkpoint in downtown San Diego, which netted 10 arrests and nine vehicle impounds, an officer said Saturday.
The checkpoint ran from about 11 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Saturday in the 1500 block of Fifth Avenue in the Quartz Hill area, according to San Diego police Officer Mark McCullough.
A total of 905 vehicles passed through the checkpoint. Eighteen drivers were detained for sobriety test and 10 of those drivers were arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol. Nine of their vehicles were then impounded, according to McCullough.
