Carjacker uses taser to threaten driver

A motorist was carjacked Saturday morning after he was threatened with a taser near Rolando Park, according to police.

The man was driving his 2011 Hyundai Elantra in the 5700 block of Bates Street at about 8:30 a.m. when he stopped for a woman who was standing in the street, San Diego Police Officer Frank Cali said in a statement.

The driver was then approached by a man who threatened him with a taser and forced him out of the car. The two suspects got into the car and took off, heading eastbound on Bates Street toward the vicinity of 58th Street and University Avenue, Cali said

The suspects were described as Hispanic. The man was wearing a black mask, black T-shirt and brown pajama pants. The woman was wearing a white T-shirt and blue pajama pants.

San Diego Police Robbery Unit detectives were investigating the case.
