SAN DIEGO (KGTV)--A woman said a man strange man followed her to work and then sat in a chair outside her La Jolla office building, appearing to masturbate.
This is the fourth incident of strange men exposing themselves, or masturbating, in front of women in the past three days.
It appeared to be different men in each instance.
“It’s gross. It's scary it's wrong,” said Jessica, the latest victim.
Jessica said she was walking to work about 7 a.m. on La Jolla Village Drive, just west of the I-5 freeway, when she noticed the man following her.
He caught up with her.
“Asking me where I work. What I do, and he started saying things like you’re so sexy. I don’t know what your relationship status is, but I love you. I don’t know you, but I love you,” Jessica said.
She ran into her office building.
About an hour later, a coworker texted her and said a man was masturbating outside, Jessica said.
The co-worker took cell phone video through the office window, showing the man sitting in a chair facing the entrance to Jessica’s office building, with his hand down his pants, clearly masturbating.
“The cops came, and they talked to him for about 15 minutes it seemed, and said there was nothing they can do since she didn't see his exposed genitals,” Jessica said.
10News called San Diego Police.
A sergeant said this is a crime: a misdemeanor lewd act.
The sergeant said the co-worker who took the video, and witnessed the public masturbation, can ask the police to make a “citizen’s arrest” of the man for a misdemeanor.
Jessica wants the man arrested and charged.
“It’s not because of what he did to me, but I don’t want to see other people get hurt,” she said.
Monday morning, a man drove up to a woman jogging with her toddler in a stroller in Carmel Valley, asked for directions and started masturbating.
Early Tuesday morning, a man exposed himself to a woman walking her dog in University Heights.
Tuesday, a different man drove up and masturbated in front of a woman and her daughter.
It does not appear any of the men have been caught.
